Weddings on Alderney
There surely cannot be a more relaxing and unique place to get married – Alderney is so close to the UK and yet it feels like another world, with deserted beaches that easily rival the Caribbean.
The island offers a choice of venues to entertain your guests, from top class hotels in your finery to beaches in your flip flops! The first decision is whether you wish to get married in a church or have a civil ceremony which you can do just about anywhere on the island! Civil ceremonies can be solemnised by an authorised Civil Celebrant or by the registrar at the Courthouse.
We held our own wedding at Les Pourciaux in 2009 and so we know first hand what an amazingly special venue the island is for a wedding to remember.
The rules on getting married on the island were recently changed and the new law came into effect on 1 March 2021. Less time is now required on the island before getting married, and also the rules on when and where you can get married have changed, meaning you can now get married for example on a beach and in the evening.
