Weddings on Alderney

There surely cannot be a more relaxing and unique place to get married – so close to the UK and yet it feels like another world, with deserted beaches that easily rival the Caribbean.

The island offers a choice of venues to entertain your guests, from top class hotels in your finery to beaches in your flip flops!  The only thing you have to do is be here 5 days, complete the necessary administration and on day 6 you can get married.

We held our own wedding at Les Pourciaux in July 2009 and in 2015 we had the honour and privilege of holding a wedding for some Les Pourciaux Cottage guests on the property as well.

Currently the rules on getting married on the island are in the process of being changed.  The new law is due to come into effect on 1 March 2021.  This will mean less time is required on the island before getting married, and also the rules on when and where you can get married are also changing, meaning you will be able to get married for example on a beach and in the evening which is not currently possible.
